The Data Privacy Brazil Research Association and Access Now report to the National Council on Human Rights of the United Nations violations of privacy and data protection in Brazil, in a joint submission to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). The joint submission presents an overview of the field of privacy and data protection in Brazil and highlights the techno-authoritarian investments of centralization of personal databases and abusive secondary uses of this data in opaque intelligence activities. In addition, it points out problems in the implementation of the policy of a centralized digital civil identity – the National Civil Identification. The document can be accessed here.
