Federal draft bills on childhood and privacy in the year 2020
The research was dedicated to observing reactions involving bill projects on the subject of privacy and children’s rights, especially after the fateful episode of the exposure of personal information regarding a 10-year-old child rape victim, due to anti-abortion campaigns in Brazil. The analysis aims to make an x-ray of the Brazilian legislature and its relationship with the guardianship of childhood, especially seeking to understand why the adoption of a criminalizing bias as a legislative solution to the demands involving children and adolescents. Finally, it was chosen as one of the theoretical frameworks the Child Privacy Dimensions (Interpersonal, Institutional and Commercial) proposed by Livingstone, Stoilova and Nandagiri, with the purpose of investigating which dimension of privacy the parliamentarians most direct their propositions, and the consequences arising from such posture.
