Regional study group on regulation and competition – Digital Markets Act
The Study Group on the Digital Markets Act (DMA), also in partnership with the Consumer Protection Institute (IDEC), emerged based on the need for a better understanding of the main European proposal for regulating digital markets in the light of the Brazilian reality, in order to (1) empower Brazilian civil society to debate the clash and complementarity between antitrust and regulation in digital markets and (2) understand the possibilities, challenges, advantages and disadvantages of adapting the European debate to the Brazilian reality. The group was structured through fortnightly meetings with expert guests, namely: Vanessa Turner, BEUC (EU), Nicolo Zingales, FGV-Rio (Brasil), Maria Paz Canales, Derechos Digitales (Chile) and Tommaso Valletti, Imperial College London (UK).
