‘We are going to invade Congress and the STF’: what is behind the massive sending of pro-Bolsonaro messages
During the last week some people from the south and southeast of Brazil received messages with scammer content on their mobile phones. The automatic firing of SMS came from Algar Telecom, a telecommunications company founded in Uberlândia (MG), which has already confirmed the occurrence. The illicit was committed by one of Algar’s employees, who would have changed the user and changed the administrator’s password and sent the scammer communication.
In this matter, BBC Brazil reports the case and brings the contribution of the director of the Data Privacy Brazil Research Association, Rafael Zanatta. According to him the massive sending, in addition to hurting the General Data Protection Law(LGPD), “shows a kind of well-done and dangerous social engineering attack.”
